I started building instruments in 1997 after completing a year long apprenticeship with George Morris of Vermont Instruments in beautiful southern Vermont.  From the beginning I’ve concentrated on one at a time custom instruments.  The range of instruments I’ve built include everything from acoustic and electric guitars, electric basses, banjos, mandolins and lapsteels. I’ve also spent time building and repairing tube based amplifiers.  The wide range of instruments, effects and amplifiers that I’ve build are all part of an effort to thoroughly understand the signal chain. It’s this understanding, coupled with my many years as a performing musician, that helps me craft instruments that will perform up to the standards of the professional musician.
